‘Heartland Tripura’ programme launched in the state by Rajeev Chandrasekhar
'Heartland Tripura' programme has been launched on October 19, 2023 with the aim of increasing employment opportunities in various institutions of national and international level by enhancing the skills of the educated youth of the state. Through this programme, the skills of the youth with technical, mathematics, statistics, computer science, BCA, MCA, M.Sc graduates will increase. In this regard, Deloitte and NIELIT Agartala will jointly implement 'Heartland Tripura' programme.
Union Minister of State for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Information Technology Rajiv Chandrasekhar inaugurated the 'Heartland Tripura' programme at Rabindra Bhavan on October 19,2023.
Inaugurating the Heartland Tripura programme, Union Minister of state for Skill Development Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that for employment in any field in the future there must be skills as well as knowledge.
There have been many changes in the country's economy in the last 7-8 years. As a result, various multinational companies are interested in investing in India. But for employment in these multinational companies, everyone needs to be educated as well as have expertise in a particular subject. The Union Minister of State said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken initiatives to develop the IT sector in North Eastern states along with Tripura like Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Gurgaon. Keeping this in mind, importance has been given to the development of the communication system, internet system in the North-Eastern region. Now there is a need to make the talented students here suitable for employment in multinational companies by developing their skills. It is for this purpose that 'Heartland Tripura' program has been started. He also said that in the next few days multinational companies like IBM and Microsoft will also take initiative to participate in this kind of programme.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said in the programme that 350 youths will be eligible for employment in the state by next June. In this programme, the Central Government and Deloitte Company will bear the stipend, living expenses etc. during the internship of the students. She expressed hope that 10,000 youth of the state will get an opportunity to work in the IT sector through this programme in the next few years.
Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma said on the occasion that special importance has been given to skill development in the new National Education Policy. Because for the kind of employment opportunities that are being created in India in the future, it is desirable to have special skills. She said that it is possible to make the country and state self-reliant through various skill development schemes of the central and state governments.
MoUs have been signed with MBB College, Techno College of Engineering, ICFAI University, Advanced Studies Agartala and NIELIT Agartala to take Heartland Tripura programme forward in the state. CEO of Deloitte South Asia Romal Shetty, Director of IIT Guwahati Lalit Sharma and Regional Head of NSDC Dr. Smita Chetia Talukdar also spoke at the programme.
