A large consignment of dry-Cannabis hidden in the secret chamber of a truck was seized by police from Churaibari check post and has also arrested the accused driver.

Police sources said that based on secret information, the OC of Churaibari police station detained a suspected 12-wheeler lorry at Churaibari Naka point moving towards Assam side from Agartala.

In the course of a search operation in the truck (CG-04-FD-9489), police recovered many packets of dry Ganja weighing 300 kilograms, worth of Rs. 40 lakh, hidden in the secret chambers of the truck and arrested accused truck driver Radheshyam Debey of Uttar Pradesh.

Police added that they registered a specific case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) and started investigation to arrest smugglers involved with this consignment.
