Huge quantities of Ganja recovered with Assam number plates from Khowai
The state police in continuation of its drive against drugs, on Wednesday morning recovered 130 kilograms of dry Cannabis (Ganja) from an abandoned mini truck and recovered two vehicle registration number plates of Assam.
Police sources said that on Wednesday morning they have received information that an abandoned Tata mini truck has been noticed in an area of Hatimara village under Chmpahowar police station of Khowai district.
Immediately, a team of police personnel rushed to the spot and during search in the abandoned vehicle, police found some suspicious material in the upper deck of the mini truck.
The police team, with the help of an iron cutter machine, opened the upper deck of the mini truck and recovered a total of 130 kilograms of dry Ganja. During the search police have also recovered two number plates of Assam state.
SDPO Prasun Kanti Majumder said that so far no smuggler involved with the storage of dry Ganja was not arrested and suspected that smugglers after crossing the state’s territory, they used Assam number plates to escape from suspicious eyes of police.
