Huge quantities of Heroin seized, one smuggler arrested
In another coordinated operation against drug smuggling, the Agartala city police in association with BSF personnel, successfully seized a significant cache of narcotics with an estimated market value of approximately Rs 5 lakh and arrested a smuggler from Charipara area under Amtali police station.
Giving details of the operation, SP(West) Kiran Kumar said that based on secret information, police in association with BSF raided the house one Milan Miah at Madhya Charipara area under Amtali police station on Wednesday midnight.
SP Kiran Kumar said that the operation yielded the discovery of cash, Heroin, Yaba tablets, and empty vials at Milan Miah’s house and police have also arrested him under a specific case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
In addition to Superintendent Kiran Kumar, the operation was executed by officers from Amtali police station, including SDPO (Amtali) Ashish Dasgupta and OCof Amtali police station, Ranjit Debnath, along with several other dedicated police personnel.
The confiscated narcotics and cash include a haul of 62 grams of Heroin, 900 Yaba tablets, 5000 empty vials and Rs 5,000 in cash.
