In two separate incidents, 3 children drowned in ponds

In two separate tragic incidents , three children drowned into ponds at Teliamura and Amarpur areas of Tripura on Tuesday.

In Mangaljoypara under Teliamura Police station two children, while playing Elisa Rupini (5), daughter of Bikash Rupini and 4-year-old Emi Debbarma daughter of Dwaraka Debbarma  suddenly fell down to a         pond near their house.

Some local people noticed the incident and  immediately rescued them from the pond and shifted them to Teliamura hospital , where a visiting doctor declared them dead.

After this tragic incident, a pall of gloom descended in the village. Later, police rushed to the spot and after the post-mortem, handed over the bodies to the relatives of the two drowned girls.

In another similar incident held  at Kasco village of Amarpur, two and half year old Mima Jamatia, daughter of Nitya Sadhan Jamatia was playing and  drowned in the pond. When family members started searching for the girl , they found her in a senseless condition in the pond and shifted her to Amarpur subdivision hospital, where doctors also declared her dead.

After receiving the information, BAC Chairman Rabitra Jamatia rushed to the hospital and tried to console the bereaved parents.
