Independence Day celebration: CM to hoist tricolor at Assam Rifles ground
Independence Day will be celebrated on August 15 through various programmes. The main Programme of Independence Day celebration will be organized at Assam Rifles ground in Agartala. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha will formally hoist the national flag at Assam Rifles Ground at 9:10 AM. After unfurling the national flag, the Chief Minister will visit Salami Parade and present awards and medals to Army Cadets, Officers and Forest Department officials. The Chief Minister will address the people of the state on the occasion. Later there will be cultural Programmes will be performed by school students and different cultural groups.
Independence Day celebration on August 15 will begin at 5 AM with a morning procession. Students of different schools will take part in the morning procession on the main road of Agartala city. As soon as the sun rises, the national flag will be hoisted on various private buildings and houses. Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Ratan Lal Nath will hoist the national flag at 7 AM in the Secretariat premises. The national flag will be hoisted at various government offices, educational institutions, Anganwadi centres, Municipal Councils, Gram Panchayat offices, Village Committee offices and TTAADC offices at 7 am. Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya will offer garlands to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Circuit house at 8 AM and at 8:15 AM at Gandhi Bedi in Gandhighat and at 8:35 AM at Shaheed Minar of Albert Ekka Park in Lichubagan. At 5 PM, a local programme will be organized at the new Raj Bhavan. As part of the Independence Day Programme, an interesting cultural Programme will be organized at Rabindra Bhavan at 6.30 PM.
