Jitendra Chaudhury demanded a SIT investigation over death of a woman

Opposition CPI(M) on Saturday through a letter to the Director General of Police ()DGP) demanded  investigation by a  Special Investigation Team (SIT) over the alleged murder of a woman.

CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury in a letter to the DGP on Saturday alleged that one Dipashree Das of Bardowali area of Agartala was taken to the house of one Biplab Sen at Kalacherra Bazara in Sabroom under South Tripura district under the instigation of one Arun Halder of Bardowali area in the same of some sort of “Suddhikaran’ on October 6th last.

Chaudhury, based on some media reports, said that parents of Smt. Dipashree Das had been compelled to leave her alone at Kalacherra under the custody of Biplab Sen against their will and as per the media reports, Smt Das has attempted to commit suicide in the Biplab Sen’s house being inhumanly tortured by him.

Chaudhury in his letter alleged that Smt Das was referred to outside the state for treatment from Santirbazar district hospital and from GB Hospital.

“As learnt, Smt. Das has succumbed there in the hospital and her body  is being brought to Tripura by an Ambulance,” said Chaudhury and added that the incident is one of the very shocking one and part of a big racket, which is indulging into criminal offences, as such atrocities against the women in the name of “Love Jihad” and “Suddhikaran” etc.

Chaudhury in his letter said that considering the gravity of the incident, requested the DGP to constitute SIT and culprits behind the murder of Smt. Dipashree Das are booked under the law and the racket of the criminal activities is dismantled for the greater interest of the society, particularly the safety of the women.
