Joint efforts will ensure the success of ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ project, CM
The implementation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ initiative to instill patriotism among the citizens of the country is unprecedented.
This initiative must be properly implemented in our state as well, said Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha in a review meeting on ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ held at the Secretariat on Monday. He said, a potful of soil from 58 blocks of the state as well as a potful of soil from Agartala Municipal Corporation will be sent to New Delhi as a part of ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’. The Chief Minister suggested decoration of all those pots being sent. The Chief Minister further said in the meeting, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program has also been well implemented in the state as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav which has helped bring good name to the state.
Everyone must make joint efforts to keep the good name of the state intact through successful implementation of ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ initiative. The Chief Minister called upon the District Magistrates to supervise the initiative at district level. While elaborately discussing the initiatives taken up to implement ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’, Secretary of Information & Cultural Affairs department Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty said, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 12, 2021 in order to commemorate 75 years of Indian Independence. The Mahotsav ends in August, 2023. On closing of the Mahotsav, ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ drive will be conducted nationwide from August 9 till August 30. Besides, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ will be celebrated from August 13 till August 15 this year just like the previous year. The Secretary informed that 116 Amrit Kalash will be brought to Agartala from 58 blocks (2 pots each) of the state as a part of ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ initiative. An Amrit Vatika will be created amalgamating a potful soil of AMC and potful soil from 58 blocks. The Chief Minister will be inaugurating the creation of Amrit Vatika. On the same day, 59 youth will leave for New Delhi with 59 Amrit Kalash. They will be participating in New Delhi on August 27 and 28. An Amrit Van will be formed dedicated to the freedom fighters, brave martyrs and police martyrs with the soil of 7,500 blocks of the country. The Prime Minister will read out 5 oaths to 7,500 representative youths in the initiative. The ICA Secretary called upon the District Magistrates to take up an important role in successful implementation of the initiative in the state.

Darlong and Secretary to the Chief Minister Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Director of ICA department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee along with the District Magistrates of eight districts.
