Loaded truck stolen from Agartala, detained in Bishalgarh
In its latest edition daily growing stolen incidents across Tripura, in a daring stolen attempt, a thief had stolen away a loaded 6-wheeler lorry from a parking point at Border Gul Chakkar area under West Agartala police station on Sunday. But, within a few hours of the incident, police managed to stop the stolen truck at a ‘Naka’ point in Bishalgarh and have also arrested the thief.
Police sources said one truck owner Iqbal Miah parked his loaded truck near the parking point of Border Gul Chakkar area of Agartala, but since Sunday morning his truck (TR-01-T-1894) was missing from the parking spot. Iqbal Miah, immediately rushed to the police station and informed them about the stolen incident. Police through their instant messages informed all the police stations and Naka points of the state to trace the stolen truck.
A contingent of Sepahijala district police posted at the Naka point of Bishalgarh located the truck, which was proceeding towards Sonamura. Police immediately detained the truck and asked the driver to show registration papers of the truck, but he was unable to produce the same.
Later, truck owner Iqbal Hussain rushed to the spot and identified his vehicle. Police seized the truck and have also arrested the driver cum thief and initiated legal proceedings against the arrested thief.
