Mamata attacks BJP, CPM, Congress, claims TMC only alternative to oust double-engine
Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday after a spectacular road show in Agartala led by its supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benerjee, also addressed a mass gathering of party workers in front of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.
While addressing the gathering, Mamta Banerjee said she had quit the Congress due to the chaotic conditions in the party and claimed that Congress and CPI(M) understanding is not new, and the people of Tripura will also give them a suitable reply like West Bengal.
Castigating ruling BJP over their violent politics, Mamata Benrejee asked when ‘Double-Engine’ has drowned Delhi, how can they save Tripura? She said that only TMC can oust the double-engine from the country.
“The culture in Bengal and Tripura is the same. We speak the same language and eat the same food. I thank those from our party who are in charge here who have stood by the people despite attacks," said Mamata.
Tripura is not new for me. I was among the three Congress leaders to visit each and every place where people had been tortured by Left rule. I remember visiting Kamalpur where 6 people were murdered and their bodies too could not be found. Udaipur, Kailasahar, and Matabari – I know each of these places including even the remotest of wards, said Banerjee and added that she had given responsibility to Abhishek Banerjee to bring the young generation and asked them to rescue people of the Tripura from the hands of oppression.
Mentioning the attacks on TMC leaders, Benerjee alleged that BJP government in Tripura did not provide medical facilities to their workers and they were shifted to SSKM Hospital and some lost their lives.
She said double-engines are visible during elections and people are not able to locate them after polls.
Highlighting the alliance of Congress and CPI(M), Banerjee said “n Bengal, BJP-CPI(M)-Congress come together to fight us. Don’t these people feel ashamed of their hypocrisy and for doing two kinds of politics in different states?”
She added that after power in many years CPI(M) did nothing for the people of Tripura , even the Congress did nothing, but their leaders are able to frequently change parties.
She alleged that people in Tripura are being oppressed by BJP and fundamental rights of common people were snatched by BJP and by applying forces government tried to stop voices.
Mentioning all developmental schemes of the West Bengal government, Mamata said If you want peace, development, jobs, Lakshmir Bhandar, the development of hilly areas, and a united Tripura, TMC is the only alternative.
“For girl students of government schools, we have Kanyashree in Bengal. From school to college to university, we give scholarships to all the students. We also have the Aikyashree scholarship for minority students. We have Medhashree scholarship for the OBC's. The general caste students receive the Swami Vivekananda scholarships,” said Mamata and claimed that BJP has only deprived people.
In Bengal, the women are the head of the houses. We don't take the Ayushman Bharat scheme because it has no future. Instead, we give Rs 5 lakh under the Swasthya Sathi scheme, said Mamata.
He appealed to the people of Tripura to cast vote in favour of TMC candidates as only TMC can develop Tripura by the end of decade long deprivation.
‘I went to Matabari yesterday and did not make any statement there as I feel that politics and religion are different. Go and visit Dakshineswar. Look at the development there. We are doing the same in Kalighat as well. We also have Tarapith, Tarakeswar, and Furfura Sharif. We have repaired the burial grounds and crematorium grounds,’ said the WB chief minister.
The Indian students (from Bengal) who suffered due to the Russia-Ukraine war, they came to me with their grievances. I conveyed the same to the Centre, but all in vain. However, the Bengal government increased the quota (of seats) so that these students don't waste their year, said Mamata.
She also highlighted developmental schemes of West Bengal like Duare Sarkar, but in Tripura due to double-engine government unemployment rate has increased in the state, where unemployment rate in Bengal decreased.
“Today, our MPs staged a protest outside the LIC headquarters. All of us have some kind of insurance and loans. Soon your money will be forfeited once someone falls. Who will be answerable for this? Where is the Rs 15 lakh that the BJP had promised ahead of the elections,” said Mamata and claimed that they did not fulfill any commitments.
She also said that BJP is unable to fight TMC politically and they are sending ED and CBI and has also claimed that businessmen are controlling the country. The Central government would have collapsed four days ago. They barely managed to save themselves.
