Manik Sarkar’s clarion calls to people to strengthen movements oust BJP govt
In his clarion call to the people of the state, opposition leader Manik Sarkar on Tuesday urged the people for a united fight against the BJP government to restore democracy in the state.
Day after the 106th anniversary of ‘Great November Revolution’, opposition CPI(M) on Tuesday organized a hall meeting at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala and addressing the gathering, former Chief Minister and opposition leader Manik Sarkar through his scathing attacks on both central and state governments alleged that the condition of people are being deteriorating day by day during BJP rules and now people struggling to maintain their livelihood.
He said that after paralyzing all constitutional bodies of the country, the ruling BJP continued their attacks on common people and victimized the minority section of the society.
He urged his party supporters and leaders to unite the people against BJP-RSS’s ‘fascistic’ attacks on people and should strengthen their movements to restore democracy in the state.
"Only united fights and greater movements against the oppression politics of ruling parties is the need of the hour to give a relief to the people of Tripura from their violent politics," said Sarkar and added that the present condition should not be continued.
He said that ruling BJP totally failed to maintain their pre-poll commitments and asked where is the 50,000 jobs, central pay-scale for government employees?
"Our MLAs in all assembly sessions asked the treasury bench what is the number of vacant posts, but instead of filling vacant posts, they are increasing the unemployment rate day by day due to their anti-people policies," said Sarkar.
He also slammed the government for deprivation of retrenched 10, 323 teachers and applying of force on peaceful agitations by different unemployed groups. He said that the state BJP government during their 55 months rule continued the violent politics and false statements to divert the attention of people.
He also appealed to the people not to fall in the trap fetched by the ruling through their lucrative assurance before assembly polls and urged people to defeat BJP in the coming elections to restore peace and development in the state.
While, speaking in the meeting CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chowdhruy also urged the people of the state to strengthen their movements against the government and claimed not a people are happy over the functioning of government and every people are being deprived and affected by the ‘misrule’ of the state government.
