Imphal (Manipur):  The combined security forces including  Manipur Police, Manipur Police Commandos, Assam Rifles, Indian Army, CRPF and  ITBP during the last 2 days have recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition along with grenade launchers and explosives in different combing operations carried out in different parts of the state(both hills and valley areas).

On Monday, a team of 36th Assam Riles arrested two suspected cadres of Chin Kuki Liberation Army (CKLA non-SoO group) along with arms from Chaljang in Churachandpur District along the Indo-Myanmar border.  From the two cadres the team of 36th AR seized two 5.56 mm INSAS Rifle, one MQ Assault Rifle, one  AK 47 Rifle, one M16 Rifle, one Sniper Rifle with telescope, 48 rounds of 7.62mm Ball ammunition, 57 rounds of 5.56 Insas Ball ammunition, four 7.62mm Sniper Ball ammunition, one Binocular, four Radio sets, Radio set charger, 480500 rupees cash, one Burmese sword, three Aadhaar card and pan cards.

A team of Kakching District Police along with 136 BSF ‘s D-Coy and 167 BSF’s  B-Coy, led by DIG Range 2 Jogeshchandra Haobijam on Tuesday also recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation at Wangoo Laipham area in Kakching District(valley area).

The recovered weapons include one AK- 47 rifle, 5 SLR, one improvised 303 rifle, one INSAS rifle, three 303 rifle, two single barrel rifles, eleven HE Grenade, one Chinese hand grenade, 15 grenade launching tubes and detonators. The recovered items were produced before media persons and later handed over to Wangoo police station and a case has been registered.

The same day a combined team of Bishnupur District Police led by Additional SP OPS Bishnupur along with a column of 2nd Mahar Regiment and a platoon of E129 CRPF had also seized arms, explosives, and ammunitions during a search carried out at Gelbung village under Bishnupur district. The seized arms include one A1 (AB) rifle, One G3 rifle, thirty two HE Hand Grenade, four 2 inch twin Motor shells, 11 Hellmate mine bomb, 20  tube launcher, 4 WP Smoke Bomb, twenty Arming Ring, one  BP jacket, two detonators.

In Lamjang area in Churachandpur district a combined team of 46 Column of AR, ITBP E Company along with Churachandpur Police under the IGP Zone 2 and assisted by DIG Range 3 recovered local made 40mm grenade launcher, 40 mm grenade launcher, 12 bore single barrel rifle, two 40 mm lathode shells and two 40mm pumpi rocket bomb.

On Wednesday, a combined team consisting of Thoubal Police along with 33 Assam Rifles and BSF recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation conducted at Chandrakhong area under the jurisdiction of Nongpok Sekmai Police Station in Thoubal District.

The combined team during the search operation at Salam Patong  and Phajakhong recovered  one 5.56 Insas rifle, two 7.62 SLR rifles, one 40 mm Lathode Gun, three 9mm pistols, seven hand grenades, one Chinese hand grenade, two magazines of 5.56 LMG, one 5.56 Insas magazine, two bullets for 5.56mm Insas rifle, twenty five magazines for 7.62mm SLR, one Tear Gas smoke grenade, one Stun Grenade, one 40mm Lathode shell, three bullets for 7.62 SLR, six bullets for AK 47 rifle, six bullets for 303 rifle, thirty six detonators, one 9mm Magazine, one walkie talkie set and one Bullet proof jacket.

In another search operation, a team of Imphal West Commando arrested two cadres of a banned outfit with arms and ammunition. From the said cadres, one 9mm pistol, eight rounds of 9mm pistol, forty nine rounds of AK rifle, two SLR rounds, fifteen 303 rounds, two empty magazines of Insas rifle were seized. The arrested cadres along with the weapons were handed to Singjamei Police Station for further necessary action.
