‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign will start from August 9, secretary, ICA

As part of the concluding programme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a campaign titled 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' is being launched across the country from August 9 to August 30 next. The campaign will be celebrated in the state as well, said Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs  Department Dr. Pradeep Kumar Chakravarty on Friday evening.

 The Secretary said that various programmes will be organized to pay tribute to the freedom fighters and those who sacrificed their lives for the country while working in defence, paramilitary and police forces in the state. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on March 12, 2021 to commemorate 75 years of India's independence.

 The Secretary informed that “Shilaphalakam '' programme will be held in every Gram Panchayat, Village Committee, Nagar Panchayat, Municipal Council, Agartala Municipal Corporation area to pay respect to the freedom fighters and those who sacrificed their lives for the country while working in defence, paramilitary and police during 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign.

In every village and ward, Gram Panchayat, ADC Village Committee, Nagar Panchayat, Municipal Council, Agartala Municipal Corporation area of the state and in state level functions, the participants will take Panchprana oath with a clay lamp or a handful of clay in their hands. Participants will upload their selfies related to the campaign themselves on the website. On social media shareable Digital certificate can be downloaded. The website is- merimaatimeradesh.gov.in, secretary of ICA said at the press conference that 75 saplings will be planted in 'Vasudha Bandana' at each level.

Family members of all heroes will be felicitated in Veero Ka Vandana according to local traditions and customs. Moreover, the national flag will be hoisted in all programmes related to the campaign and National Anthem will be performed.

The Secretary also said that soil will be taken from each village or ward to the respective gram panchayats and ADC village committees in rural areas. Later, the soil from 1176 Gram Panchayats and ADC Village Committees will be taken to the respective 58 blocks. One youth volunteer from each block of the state will carry the soil collected from each gram panchayat and ADC village committee belonging to the block first to the state level and then to New Delhi. Similarly, soil collected from different wards of the city and urban areas will be taken to the respective Nagar Panchayats and Municipal Council. Soil collected from total 19 Nagar Panchayats and Municipal Council will be brought to Agartala Municipal Corporation. A youth volunteer will take the soil collected from Agartala Municipal Corporation area in an urn first to the state level and then to New Delhi.

Memorials and Amrit Vatikas will be built on New Delhi's Kartavya Path. The Secretary said that Amrit Vatika will be built at the state level with some of the soil brought from 58 blocks of the state, 19 Municipal councils and Agartala Municipal Corporation.

The state level programme will be held near the secretariat. Moreover, from 13th to 15th August like last year, the national flag will be hoisted in every house and institution on its own initiative as part of

 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme this year. The Secretary informed that the nodal department for this programme will be the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs.
