Mevar joined Tipra-Motha, Pradyot ruled out any alliance before writing assurance for ‘Greater Tipraland’

Day after resignation as MLA of ruling alliance, IPFT, former minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia on Wednesday formally joined Tipra-Motha along with few other ST leaders from BJP.

Day after resignation as MLA of ruling alliance, IPFT, former minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia on Wednesday formally joined Tipra-Motha along with few other ST leaders from BJP.

After the joining programme, Tipra-Motha chairman and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma addressing a press meet on Wednesday afternoon welcomed Jamatia and BJP leader Chandan Tripura in their party.

Highlighting the long family relationship of Mevar Kumar Jamatia from his childhood, Pradyot appreciated the step taken by the Jamatia and hoped that their steps will definitely strengthen their ‘greater Tipraland’ demand.

Speaking in the press meet Jamatia said that it is the right time to join Tipra-Motha and many leaders will join the party in coming days to achieve their goal of ‘greater Tipraland’. He said that many of his followers from their erstwhile IPFT have also joined Motha. He said among the 34 divisions of IPFT, about 90 % leaders and supporters have already joined Motha and many organizations of IPFT have also merged with Motha. "We will go to the homes of other IPFT leaders to join the Motha and days to come, the Motha will achieve the goal by winning the next assembly elections for their community".

Jamatia also said that Tipra-Motha is the best platform to serve their people and do something against decade long deprivation of their community and will preserve their constitutional rights.

Meanwhile, Pradyot Kishore reiterated that they will strengthen their movements for a hope to achieve the ‘greater Tipraland’ and if the government cannot give their rights, then they will do their best for their community after winning the elections. He said that till the constitutional rights for 13 lakh indigenous population, the Motha will not go for any political alliance with any political party before assembly election.
