Minister visits GB Hospital, met two injured Anganwadi children
In an unfortunate incident in Bairagimura Anganwadi centre at Dasharath Bari village under Mohanbhog RD Block two children faced burn injury and were admitted to GB Hospital.
Sources said that two children identified as Punti Debbarma( 5) and Hamari Debbarma (5) suffered grievous burn injuries, when Anganwadi worker Jaylaxmi Sarkar accidentally spilled hot water on these children from the window of the kitchen of Anganwadi centre.
Official sources said that the department of Social Welfare and Social Education on hearing the information immediately supported the families with Rs.30,000 and Minister Tinku Roy and the authorities of the department visited the children at GBP hospital where the children are getting treated and coordinated with doctors, medical superintendent and nurses for utmost care and better treatment. The Minister has taken the decision to further support the children with more financial support from the Department. Minister Tinku Roy also asked to take up an inquiry about the incident and the department has immediately taken action in suspending the service of the Anganwadi Workers and for strong monitoring by the Anganwadi centre management committee so as to ensure that in future no such negligence in duty is found on the part of any Anganwadi workers in the state.
