In a heartrending incident a decomposed body of a person was recovered at his house in the thickly populated Shivnagar area of Agartala, whereas his elderly and sick mother was lying in the bed in unconscious condition for the last six days without any food and water.

This incident came to limelight, when  one maternal aunty (Minakshi Sur Choudhury) of deceased Sudhir Sur Choudhury (54) went to their home located at Shiv Nagar College road extension on Sunday morning.  Minakshi Sur Choudhury sensing the bad odor of decomposed body, she raised her alarm and called neighbours and has also informed the matter to the police.

Giving details of the incident OC Sanjit Sen said seeing the condition of the house; they immediately called the forensic and dog squads. SDPO (Sadar) Dulal Datta has also rushed to the spot.

Police have also recovered many foreign liquor bottles and empty glasses inside the bedroom of deceased Sur. ‘Apparently, Sur, a habitual drinker and frustrated man after his wife left him, died after he slipped from the staircase in intoxicated condition,’ said Sen and added that they have also shifted his ailing mother to GB Hospital, who is now in stable condition.

While, till the findings of autopsy and forensic report, they cannot find the actual reason of the death and have also started investigation to find out the actual reason of the death.
