Nine candidates in fray for West Tripura PC, direct fight among BJP and CPI(M) in Ramnagar
On the last day of withdrawal of nominations for West Tripura parliamentary constituency and by-elections for 7-Ramnagar assembly seat, altogether 9 candidates are in fray for West Tripura seat and Ramnagar assembly will see direct fight among ruling BJP candidates and its opponent INDIA Bloc candidate.
The Additional Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura, Usha Jen Mog said that among the nine candidates in West Tripura PC, two are from national political parties including Ashish Kumar Saha from Indian National Congress (INC) and Biplab Kumar Deb from BJP.
Seven other candidates are Arun Kumar Bhowmik from SUCI, Arnab Roy from Republican Party of India (A), Gouri Sankar Nandi as independent candidate, Balaram Debbarma (independent), Brajalal Debnath(independent), Milanpada Murasingh (independent) and Ramendra Reang (Independent).
While, the by-elections for 7-Rmanagar assembly constituency will witness direct fight among ruling BJP candidate and candidate of CPI(M) of INDIA Bloc.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Dipak Majumder will contest the by-poll as BJP candidate and former MLA, Ratan Das will contest the election as CPI(M) candidate.
