One man, one post: Newly elected MLA Kishore Barman relinquish post of party general secretary
In a sudden development, young BJP leader and general secretary of the state unit of the party, Kishore Barman, who has been elected as MLA from Nalchar assembly constituency has expressed his desire to relinquish his party post in compliance with the party’s long standing principal of ‘one-man-one-post.
Barman, who was engaged in organizational work in West Bengal for a considerable time, was made the party general secretary for Tripura in July 8th, 2021 and in a letter to the state president of BJP, Rajib Bhattacharjee on Monday Barman said that “for the past two years, I have been working as the general secretary to strengthen the organization. In the February, 2023 Assembly election, I contested from Nalchar constituency and subsequently won the elections with the blessing of people and leaders of the party."
Expressing his gratitude towards the leaders of the party, Barman said “as the party endorses the 'one man, one post' principle, it will not be wise for me to retain two posts. Therefore, as an obedient soldier of the party, so I seek exemption from the responsibility as general secretary of Tripura state BJP.
Kisore Barman, praying that his resignation from the post of general secretary be accepted by the state president.
While speaking with media persons Kishore Barman has also said that he thinks it is the right time to quit the party post and concentrate on the welfare of people who elected him.
