Opposition CPI (M) gearing up for statewide protest rallies against government
Opposition CPI (M) has expressed their deep concern over the present state of affairs and alleged that a large number of rural people of the state are suffering acute shortages of jobs and the law and order situation is now becoming very alarming due to the reluctant attitude of the state government.
After the state committee meeting of the CPI (M), the party secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury accompanied by senior leader and convener of Left Front , Narayan Kar said that the state committee of CPI(M) had detailed discussion over the present situation of the state and alleged that large section of poor people of the state were unable to celebrate the festival of Durga Puja in absence of money.
Chaudhury said that CPI (M) is gearing up to organize protest rallies and meetings across the state against the misrule of the present government from November 20 to December first week.
Earlier, Left Front governments before the festival season had provided a number of mandays under MGNREGA and TUEP, but this year, the present state government has cut the allotment and village people have suffered a lot, ultimately passing their days with severe financial crisis.
Similarly, the conditions of people living in hills are also deteriorating days by day in absence of jobs, said Chaudhury and added that the rural and hilly area of Tripura are presently reeling under acute shortages of jobs and the government should ensure jobs under MGNREGA and works under own schemes of the departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Forest and Fisheries to give villagers a scope to run their families.
He alleged that in the last seven months the BJP-IPFT coalition government has totally failed to provide basic amenities for common people, especially in the ADC areas.
The people of the state gave their mandate in favour of BJP-IPFT to get more opportunities, but they totally failed to fulfill people’s aspiration, said Chaudhury.
During the past few months, the villagers only get a few mandays under MGNREGA and the lion share of wages are being taken away by few leaders of BJP and a large number of rural population are being denied their legitimate rights, said Chaudhury.
He said that Mafias and syndicate Raj are prevailing across the state and law and order situation are deteriorating day by day and due to rampant uses of synthetic drugs, more and more youths are becoming a prey of drug abuse.
He said that the government and ruling party are busy with their political activities and their publicity. Chaudhury also demanded for Village Committee elections in ADC areas of the state at the earliest to ensure development of tribal areas. Chaudhury also slammed Tipra-Motha for the fake promises and claimed that day by day more and more are youth deserting the camps of Tipra-Motha.
Criticizing the BJP-IPFT coalition government, Das said that Chief Minister asked government administration to maintain their professional duties, but in reality there is no reflection of government’s works during last three months in hilly areas
He requested the authorities of the state government to visit the interior parts of the state, where people are forced to cross the international border to collect their livelihood.
