PM to visit Tripura either Oct 27 or 28, will inaugurate number of projects, CM
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Tripura on October 27 or 28, and this sudden one-day tour of the Prime Minister will rejuvenate the ruling BJP just few months before the next assembly elections in Tripura.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Tuesday sharing brief information over the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with media in Agartala said that the PM will visit the state either on October 27 or 28 and will inaugurate a number of developmental projects.
Official sources said that during one day visit to the state, the Prime Minister will address a mass gathering at Vivekananda stadium in Agartala, where the PM will unveil the ‘Greha Prabesh’ ceremony for thousands of houses constructed under PMAY scheme in the state.
Dr Saha said that during the PM visit either on October 27 or the next day, will also hold a public rally, besides laying the foundation stones of some projects. The union government had sanctioned 1.60 lakh dwelling huts under Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) for Tripura state during 2021-22 financial year and many of the dwelling units are ready for inauguration.
Over the question of inauguration of the proposed Dental college in Tripura, Dr Saha said that it will not be possible because so far the Dental Council of India (DCI) has not approved the proposed college.
The Chief Minister also said that Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to go to Arunachal Pradesh and added that if the Prime Minister goes to Arunachal Pradesh on October 27, he will visit Tripura on October 28 or else he will be in Agartala on October 27. The final tour programme has not been finalized yet and soon the government will announce his tour schedule.
While, political sources said that in the backdrop of the anti-incumbency factors of the BJP government, the ruling BJP will kick-start the assembly election preparation with Modi's visit as the party would take a desperate attempt to retain power in Tripura.
