Power dept take modernize steps for uninterrupted power supply across Tripura, Minister

Tripura government is working continuously to provide uninterrupted power supply to every corner of the state and to achieve the target, the Power department has also taken every step for modernization of power transmission system, said Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
Inaugurating a 33-KV power sub-station at Ranirbazar under West Tripura district on Monday, Nath said that apart from development, uninterrupted power supply is essential for improving people’s quality of life.
The state government is working towards strengthening and modernizing the power supply infrastructure and now, the state government has taken a step forward in that effort by inaugurating a new 33 KV power sub-station in Ranirbazar.
The Power Minister said that the current government is working tirelessly to implement several projects to ensure uninterrupted power supply to every corner of the state. With the commissioning of the new 33/11 KV sub-station, local residents of Ranirbazar and surrounding areas will now receive better and more uninterrupted electricity. He also informed that under the central government’s financial assistance, this sub-station was built with a project cost of Rs 10.70 crore.
He added that the state government is committed to strengthening the infrastructure of the power department and ensuring power access even in remote villages. Discussions are ongoing to take the power department’s services further better in all remote areas of the state.
Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, who is also local MLA addressing the gathering said that this sub-station will solve the long-standing problem of electricity in the Ranirbazar area and parts of Jirania. With the sub-station now operational, local residents will receive much better power service.
General Manager of Tripura Power Transmission Limited (TPTL) Ranjan Debbarma delivered the welcome address at the event. Ranirbazar Municipal Council vice-chairman, Prabir Kumar Das, Chairman Anparna Shukladas, social activists Gouranga Dey, Ranjit Roy Chowdhury were also present.
