Raids in Battala market, police seized huge quantities of liquor, two arrested
As part of the tight security measures across the state for peaceful celebration of the 76th Independence Day, the Agartala city police on Sunday afternoon conducted massive raids at Battala market and seized huge quantities of country made liquors and arrested two persons.
Speaking with media persons SP(West) Kiran Kumar said that the district police is now conducting raids in all market, busy places and the checking of all vehicular movements in different gates (Naka point) across the state has also been started and police along with other security forces are taking constant vigil on the movements of all vehicles.
He said during such raids at Battala market, police have seized huge quantities of illegal country made liquors, sealed many illegal shops and arrested two persons. Kiran Kumar also said that the district police will request the authorities of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) to seal such illegal shops in Battala and other markets of the capital city selling illegal liquors.
The SP also said that such operations will continue around the Agartala city along with anti-narcotic drives of the state police.
