Refresher training workshop on e-Prison Web portal inaugurated by Jail Minister
The e-Prison system has been commenced to provide modern facilities in jails of the state. With the help of this system, anyone can submit application from anywhere to visit any inmate of the jail, enunciated Jail Minister Santana Chakma after inaugurating the 3-day State-Level Refresher Training Workshop on e-Prison Web Portal organised at the Conference Hall of theState Guest House on Tuesday. further said, after properly scrutinizing the application submitted by the applicant, the jail authority will grant the permit through e-Prison portal. The concerned applicant can then talk with a specific inmate of the jail on a given date and time through e-Prison video conference. The Jail Minister said, the jails of the state are being modernised keeping up with modern scientific technology. With that, the Jail Minister asked the jail staff to perform their duties with honesty and transparency.
Dignitaries present in the inaugural programme were Secretary of Jail department Tapas Roy, Inspector General of Prisons Aditi Majumder and NIC Tripura Director Bimal Biswas. It is to be noted that, e-Prison is functional in the jails of the state since 2017-18 along with other states of the country under Digital India programme. The workshop is being conducted in order to increase the skill of all Jail officials of the state on new features under e-Prison.
