Spree of joining in Congress continues before “Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra”
A week before the launching of "Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra" on November 19 by opposition Congress, the spree of joining to Congress from different political parties remained unabated as jubilant opposition and some ruling party leaders started deserting their camp targeting next assembly elections to strengthen the hands of Congress.
In a similar joining programme held at Kalyanpur Congress Bhavan under Khowai district on Thursday, altogether 412 persons from 84 families including some leaders from different political parties joined Congress.
The Pradesh Congress president Birajit Sinha, former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha , Kalyanpur Block Congress president Sadhan Mallik and other leaders of the party welcomed all new party supporters with Congress flags.
Speaking in the programme, PCC president Birajit Sinha said that thousands of supporters from BJP, CPI (M) and TMC will also join Congress in different parts of the state in days to come.
"Today is the big day for Congress, many leaders from ruling party and other like minded opposition parties joined to strengthen the hands of Congress to oust the anti-people BJP government from Tripura," said Sinha and added that more and more people strengthening Congress hands before "Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra" . Criticising the ‘Sushan campaign’ of the state government, Sinha said that through fake campaign the BJP government trying to hide their misdeed, but people of the state will not forget the 55 months long misrule and rule of violence and terror.
Speaking in the programme Ashish Kumar Saha said that the people of the state have decided to unseat the ‘anti-people’ BJP government through democratic means of election and claimed that BJP has ruined the state and hundreds of BJP supporters are now joining Congress for the betrayal politics of BJP government. He also claimed that no peace loving and honest people cannot sustain in BJP as the ruling are being controlled by miscreants and anti-socials. He said that all leaders, who are joining Congress have reposed their faith over ideology of Congress and claimed that Congress is the only party, who can oust the communal BJP from the country.
Welcoming all of them to the Congress fold, Saha urged the leaders to contribute their best to oust the ‘autocratic’ BJP government from Tripura for better future of state’s people.
Mentioning the gang rape incident held at Khash Kalyanpur, Saha said that people of the state know the faces of rapist very well and they are being preparing themselves to give them befitting reply in next assembly elections.
"BJP came to power with false promises and they betrayed with people of the Tripura, now time has come to strengthen the hands of Congress as Congress is the only party to able to oust BJP from Tripura,", said Saha and added that after 55 months rule of BJP, the people of the state are now understood the betrayal politics of BJP.
He also asserted that the BJP has no vote bank as such in Tripura and that is why they have no alternative but to depend on rigging and mafia activities to remain in power. He added that Congress workers will not allow them to continue the hooliganism and will resist those joining hands with people of the state.
Among the new Congress supporters, local BJP leader Parimal Debnath, who has also joined Congress along with his few supporters said that after long fight, people of the state set up the BJP led government in Tripura, but after passing of four and half years, the condition of people deteriorated day by day and major section of BJP leaders are involved with corruption and nepotism.
It may be recalled here that the Tripura Pradesh Congress will observe the "Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra" in all 60 assembly constituencies of the state with an objective to ensure that the concerns and demands of the people reach Delhi.
On November 19 morning AICC general secretary and senior leader Joyram Ramesh will inaugurate the ‘Yatra’ in Agartala and state’s Congress in-charge Dr Ajoy Kumar will inaugurate the ‘Yatra’ in Dharmanagar and Kailasahar on the same day. The Congress workers and all leaders will expedite their movements against ‘misrule’ of the BJP-IPFT government with the inauguration of "Bharat Jodo - Tripura Bacho Yatra" on November 19 and will strengthen its movements against oppression politics of BJP to oust the autocratic government in next assembly elections, said Birajit Sinha.
