In another lynching incident , a group of irate mob of Nagbangshi Village in Kamalpur subdivison under Dhalai District lynched one suspected thief identified Sahid Mian on Wednesday night.
In another lynching incident , a group of irate mob of Nagbangshi Village in Kamalpur subdivison under Dhalai District lynched one suspected thief identified Sahid Mian on Wednesday night.
After the incident was reported police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Kamalpur hospital for autopsy.
Police sources said that the incident started when the villagers found that Sahid Mian (28), a resident of Kamalpur Sadar was roaming in the village at around 1 AM in the midnight. He could not give any explanation for why he was going to Nagbangshi village in the midnight and villagers started thrashing him indiscriminately and killing him on the spot.
People were very much aggrieved as in recent time several stolen incidents were held at their village and police added that the victim youth was also involved in suspected stolen incidents , who was summoned by the local police station for interrogation.
There were several cases of lynching in the state on various reasons in the past. In recent times it was the first case of lynching and police had registered a specific case and started investigation to unearth the actual reason for lynching.
