Three gets life term for murder
Three accused persons responsible for murder of a man were sentenced to life imprisonment by a court of Khowai district on Monday.
Sources said that six years ago on February 14, 2017, three accused persons identified as Bidhu Debbarma, Selen Debbarma and his son Alakesh Debbarma of Ramhari Para village under Champahowar police station of Khowai district murdered Samir Debbarma, while he was returning home after attending a marriage ceremony in the same village.
After the incident, a specific FIR under section 341/302/325/34 of IPC and the investigating officer SI Prabir Debbarma of Champahowar police station, now retired, thoroughly investigated the case and submitted a charge-sheet, which subsequently ended in conviction.
After six years of long trial, the Additional District and Sessions judge of Khowai district on Monday sentenced all three accused to rigorous imprisonment for life under section 302 of IPC.
