Tipra-Motha should more accountable towards people, says Jitendra Chaudhury
The organizational set up changing or re-structuring party units is a total internal part of any political party and relinquish from the charges of chairman of Tipra-Motha by its incumbent chief—is also their internal political rights, but political party must be accountable towards the people, said Jitendra Chowdhury.
Addressing a press conference here at CPI (M) headquarters on Monday afternoon, CPI(M) state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury replying to media queries said that all political parties have freedom to change their organizational set up, but they should maintain the transparency and accountability towards the people.
Over reference of Tipra-Motha’s supremo and former chairman Pradyot Kishore announcement in their first plenary session on July 16 on his relinquishment from top post of the party, Chaudhury said that “to protect the rights of common people on political ground, leaders should maintain their commitment, they should not change their voices in different occasions, then it would be a suicidal for their political party as well as it will disastrous for people.”
Chaudhury over greater alliance against BJP in coming Lok Sabha elections said that before assembly elections, the CPI(M) has tried its best for a united fight against BJP, but it was not fulfilled, as a result opposition parties get over 60% votes and ruling alliance BJP-IPFT getting less than 40 % votes are in power.
“The mistakes should not be repeated and if such mistakes should again, then it would be suicidal for leaders and their political parties,” said Chaudhury and added that all democratic forces should come together to minimize BJP’s votes and maximize anti-BJP votes.
He said that the coming by-election for Dhanpur assembly constituency is very crucial and all opposition parties at the national level are busy for greater anti-BJP alliance to ensure the defeat of Narendra Modi led BJP government in next Lok Sabha elections.
“Our efforts are on to maximize anti-BJP votes and we will appeal to all democratic forces to come together to ensure defeat of BJP in two Lok Sabha seats in Tripura,” said Chaudhury.
While, highlighting the 69th National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, which is published by the Ministry of Home Affairs in August , 2022 last, Chaudhury said that Tripura stand 5th position among all states and union territories of the country in terms of violent crimes and stand first in the country in drug trafficking.
Mentioning the deteriorating law and order situation of the state, on November 21st, 2019, police Sub-Inspector (SI) Durga Kumar Hrangkhawl was killed by drug mafias, but surprisingly all 7 accused persons get acquittal from a local court as police submitted poor-charge-sheet, said Chaudhury.
He said that a section of police administration is working on the behest of the ruling party and they defame the name of state police administration, which is promoting the miscreant activities across the state.
Chaudhury demanded a transparent trial against real accused persons, responsible for killing of Durga Kumar Hrangkhawl, the state government should immediately appeal before the High Court against lower court verdict and one Special Investigation Team (SIT) should be formed under a SP.
He also demanded judicial proof against the ‘Ulto Rath’ tragedy of Kumarghat by a sitting High Court judge.
Chaudhury also alleged that during last budget session of Tripura assembly, the opposition bench had tried their best to raise the deteriorated law and order situation of the state, but the treasury bench has suppressed the voices of opposition and they through their false information had also tried to divert the main burning issues of the state.
