TIT bus hit tipper at Lichubagan, 16 students injured

In a tragic road mishap on Thursday afternoon, on ne Tripura Institute of Technology, (TIT) Bus hits a tipper near Lichubagan’s Mukut Bipani  Bitan  and High Court area of Agartala , resulting in several students including the driver of bus suffered injuries.

Eyewitnesses said the bus smash into the tipper so hard that the front glass of the TIT Bus broke. A total of 16 students including the driver of the bus were injured in the accident and all but one was discharged after first aid from the GB Hospital. The accident caused huge panic and many guardians and parents including the Principal and other faculty members of the TIT, Narsingarh rushed to the hospital. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha also expressed his concern over the incident. He enquired about the accident and asked the local administration including the health care service providers  all facilities to all injured students and support them. He urged everyone to be more cautious in abiding by traffic rules and wished them a speedy recovery.

 Dr Vinay Kumar Upadhyay, Principal, TIT Narsingarh said that Bus No-1 of their institute while coming on its way towards Agartala city hits a tipper near Mukut Bipani  Bitan –Highcourt area in Agartala on Thursday  afternoon. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. A police investigation is in progress.

However, some injured students alleged that the bus was running at a very high speed and suddenly lost its control to hit a tipper stranded on the road.

Immediately, locals of the Lichubagan rushed to the spot for the rescue operation. They immensely help the injured students in reaching GB Hospital. At least 16 students reportedly sustained injuries and out of them 3rd-year Diploma student of Civil Engineering.
