TSECL ensures safety, uninterrupted power supply for Kharchi Puja
Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has undertaken extensive preparations for the upcoming Kharchi Puja celebrations at Chaturddas Devata Temple at Khayerpur, at the outskirts of Agartala, ensuring both safety for devotees and uninterrupted power supply throughout the seven-day fair.
In anticipation of increased power demand, TSECL has installed two high-capacity transformers at the fairgrounds. Continuous electricity service has been prioritized for adjacent areas such as Mela area, Assam-Agartala National Highway, Baldakhal-Chandrapur Road, Khairpur-Amtali Bypass, Tulakona Road, and Mekhlipara Tea garden Road.
TSECL sources said that in order to mitigate accidents, additional TSECL staff and engineers will be stationed to provide round-the-clock support. Teams from the Khayerpur Electrical Sub Division have been organized into shifts to ensure seamless operations and swift response to any electrical issues.
Safety measures include the installation of guard wires on both high-power and domestic electric cables to prevent direct contact, supplemented by 320 LT spacers on conductor wires within the fair grounds to minimize the risk of short circuits. Floodlights have been installed across the venue to enhance visibility and safety, particularly during evening hours.
In case of any power distribution concerns, the public is encouraged to contact the dedicated helpline number of Khayerpur Electrical Sub Division at 6033131305.
Managing Director (MD) of TSECL Biswajit Basu personally inspected the fair grounds and provided necessary directives to ensure efficient management. TSECL expresses confidence that the Kharchi Mela will be a harmonious gathering, facilitated by the collaborative efforts and cautious movement of devotees, the general public, fair organizers, and traders alike.
