Two new High Court judges will take oath on Oct 26 morning
The swearing-in-ceremony of two judicial officers as judges of the High Court of Tripura Sabyasachi Datta Purkayastha and Biswajit Palit will be held at Court number-1 of High Court of Tripura on Thursday morning 11.30 AM.
Sabyasachi Datta Purkayastha will sworn in judge of the High Court, Biswajit Palit will take the oath as additional judge of the HC and oath will administer by Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh during a simple ceremony
It may be recalled here that after the Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, has recommended the appointment of two judicial officers as judges of the High Court of Tripura including present Law secretary of Tripura government Biswajit Palit and the incumbent director of Tripura Judicial Academy, Sabyasachi Datta Purkayastha , the Union Ministry of Law and Justice on has also given the appointment to both these judicial officers as judges of High Court of Tripura.
The Union Ministry Law and Justice through a gazette notification, issued on October 18 signed by Special Secretary of government of India, Rajinder Kashyap said that Sabyasachi Datta Purkayastha has been appointed as judge of HC of Tripura with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office and Biswajit Palit has been appointed as additional judge of the HC for a period of two years.
