Ultimate goal of government to increase income of the people: Santana Chakma
The government with aims to bring the last person of the row under all government schemes for their elf-dependent and the present state government is working it this direction, stated Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Santana Chakma in a programme of loan distribution under different schemes and social responsibility of bank organized by Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB)at Pecharthal Town Hall under North Tripura district on Friday.
The Minister said, TGB has not only set a benchmark in business but also when it comes to social responsibility. Our government wants to encourage this national initiative of the Gramin Bank. She said, the present government aims to increase income of the people and to assist women to be empowered. Various schemes have been taken for this purpose. The women are being assisted to become self-dependent through Self-Help Groups. Housing, drinking water, lavatories and power connections have been provided to improve the quality of living for the poor and the people living in rural areas. She said the government has provided power connections to few far-flung areas of the Pecharthal block which has never been done before. This is real development for the last person of the society.
Sabhadhipati of Unakoti Zilla Parishad Amalendu Das said, this programme was organized as a part of Prati Ghare Sushason campaign. Gramin Bank is also participating in Prati Ghare Sushason camps through assisting in providing loans to Self-Help Groups and small private business entrepreneurs. The loan seekers also have to assist by timely paying loan installments. Only then others will not face any trouble getting loans. Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank Satyendra Singh and Pecharthal block BDO Sagar Debbarma also spoke on the occasion. Welcome speech was delivered by Gramin Bank Regional Manager (North) Subhankar Choudhury. The programme was presided over by Pecharthal BAC Chairman Sajal Chakma. DCM Abhijit Das and Tripura Gramin Bank Chief Manager Sailesh Biswaranjan were also present in the programme.
The guests handed over loan grant papers to 12 SHGs of Pecharthal block, loan grant papers to 3 beneficiaries under Swavalamban scheme, loan grant papers to 2 beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and winter clothes to 50 beneficiaries in the programme. Financial assistance of 1 thousand 195 rupees each was also provided to 33 beneficiaries of the block for Jhum cultivation.
