Weekend Tourist hub in front Ujjayanta palace resume from Dec 17th
In order to attract more tourists and popularize the Tripura Tourism, the Weekend Tourist hub in front of Ujjayanta palace in Agartala will resume again from December 17 next.
The weekend tourist hub in front of Ujjayanta palace stopped during festival days of Durga Puja and Diwali and now, the Tourism department has taken its fresh initiative to resume the same in front of Ujjayanta palace.
It may be recalled here that recently Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury presided over the high-level review meeting to discuss various issues related to the Weekend Tourist Hub and in the meeting Minister learned in detail from the officials present in the meeting about the pros and cons of the weekend tourist hub since its opening, the public's response from various quarters, the various advantages and disadvantages arising after its opening, traffic congestion control etc.
And looking into various other matters related to it, the minister gave the necessary instructions and suggestions for the near future to the officers present in the meeting.
After the meeting, its has been decided that the Weekend Tourist hub will again start from December 17 and the hub will continue only on Sundays of every month from 4 PM to 8 PM and no-parking zone in front of Ujjayanta palace will not be in effect. The ICA department will organize cultural programmes and 30 food stalls with different types of foods in 30 vehicles will be present in the weekend tourist hub from AMC. The police surveillance including deployment of plain clothes police personnel will deploy and security measures to be monitored by watch towers and CCTV surveillance.
