World Braille Day celebrated at Central Sanskrit University
The Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus at Lembucherra in Tripura celebrated World Braille Day on January 4th within the auspicious presence of Mrs. Krishna Roy Ganguly, Principal from Institute for the Empowerment of Person's with Visual Disabilities (Divyangjan) as Chief Guest.
In her address, Mrs. Ganguly highlighted the contribution of Louis Braille, French Educator in introducing the writing system for visually challenged people and appreciated the initiative of the University in organizing this event. Mrs. Krishna Roy Ganguly was accompanied by two students from her Institute who were then encouraged with little incentives for further studies.
Media Coordinator of the institute Dr.Suman Acharjee through a media statement said that this event was presided over by Prof.Awadesh Kumar Chaubey, Director and in-charge of the Campus who imbued students with the examples of various visually challenged renowned people those who had contributed a lot for the betterment of the society. Dr.Divesh Sharma, Assistant Professor (Jyotish Dept.), Mr. Mohanlal Verma, Assistant Professor (Sahitya Dept. ), Dr.Ashish Mishra, Assistant Professor (Ved Dept. ) coordinated this event. All the staff and students of the campus remained present on this occasion.
