Epstein Files shocker! Zohran Mamdani’s mother Mira Nair mentioned in latest tranche
New York/IBNS: Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair, who is also the mother of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, has been mentioned in the latest tranche of the Jeffrey Epstein files released on Friday, according to media reports.
The documents refer to Nair’s alleged presence at an afterparty hosted at the residence of convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell following a screening of her 2009 film Amelia.
The reference appears in an email sent by publicist Peggy Siegal to Jeffrey Epstein, offering a candid account of the event.
According to the email, quoted by NDTV, the gathering was attended by several high-profile figures, including former US President Bill Clinton and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Siegal wrote to Epstein after leaving the party, remarking that the audience response to Amelia had been “tepid.”
In the email, Siegal stated: “Film received tepid reaction although women like it much more… Hillary Swank and Gen: at stupid party in Bloomingdale’s cheap sportswear department… very weird. Studio went for free party from store and windows for a month… Going to be in Wall Street 2 tomorrow… more to come. xoxo Peg.”
The US Justice Department has said it has released more than three million pages of investigative material related to Epstein, including documents, photographs, and videos. Although December 19, 2025, was the statutory deadline for the release, officials said additional time was required to carry out redactions to protect victims.
Democrats have since accused the department of continuing to withhold records, claiming the total volume of material runs closer to six million pages.
The document release has reignited political controversy. While the Trump administration initially resisted making public files that could link Epstein to influential politicians, business leaders, royals, and celebrities — including Bill Clinton, billionaire Elon Musk, and Bill Gates — the newly released materials have also made fresh claims regarding US President Donald Trump’s alleged links to Epstein.
Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender whose case became one of the most explosive scandals involving alleged sexual exploitation of minors and powerful elites.
After a 2008 conviction in a sexual abuse case, Epstein was arrested again in 2019 on federal sex-trafficking charges. He died by suicide in a New York jail while awaiting trial, triggering widespread controversy and conspiracy theories.
At the centre of public scrutiny are the so-called “Epstein files” — court records, flight logs, contact lists, and unsealed civil lawsuit documents.
While inclusion in these materials does not imply wrongdoing, their gradual release has intensified questions about how Epstein operated for years with apparent impunity and whether influential individuals were shielded from accountability.
