Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Tuesday inaugurated the NextGen Human Resource Management System (HRMS), a digital platform aimed at providing government employees with faster and more transparent services.
The inauguration was held at the Pragna Bhavan in Agartala on Tuesday. The minister said the initiative would modernise government services while improving transparency and efficiency in the delivery of citizen services.
Singha Roy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working to transform India into a digital nation and that efforts were underway to build a Digital Tripura. He said e-office systems had already been introduced in government departments.
The minister explained that the NextGen HRMS would maintain an employee’s service-related information from the beginning of their career until retirement. The system would enable employees to complete pension-related formalities within a short period after retirement, apply for leave online and access their digital service books.
He congratulated officials and employees of the Finance Department for the initiative. During the programme, the minister also launched the new Pension Portal, a rules book and a video, along with several modules of the HRMS.
Finance Department Secretary Dr Prashanta Kumar Goyal discussed the digital service management system at the programme. He said the NextGen HRMS would ensure the secure maintenance of information related to government employees’ service matters. Additional Secretary Dr Adhikshan Sarkar also addressed the gathering.
Principal Accountant General (Audit) Shailendra Bikram Singh, Accountant General (A&E) Nandita Sarkar and Senior Deputy Accountant General Tanmoy Biswas were among those present. Officials from various departments, along with Finance Department and National Informatics Centre (NIC) employees, also attended the event.
