TIDC acquire land from five abandoned industrial units
After decades of wastage of revenues and occupation of government industrial lands without any business, the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC) finally on Thursday acquired lands allotted for five abandoned industrial units.
Official sources said that five industrial units at the Bodhjungnagar industrial growth centre were closed and lands lying vacant without industrial activities. Even, Corporation has a pending rent of Rs. 1.13 crore in the five closed industrial units including Narayan Kar and Associates, EDP Management Private Limited, Hahnemann Medical Research Private Limited, Ramel Industries Limited and Icore Super Cement Private Limited.
These industries have occupied about 17 acres of valuable government land for decades without any purposes; as a result the Corporation was unable to provide land for any new industrial units.
Sources added that TIDC had issued multiple demand notices to the owners of these industrial units to collect rent for land, but after passing of years, they did not give any reply to the TIDC or did not pay any rent for land.
Finally, TIDC decided to acquire these allotted lands and these lands will again provide for setting up new industrial units in the Bodhjungnagar Growth centre.
