Two road mishaps, septuagenarian ‘Baishnav’ killed, 3 more injured
In two separate road accidents Udaipur and Sonamura, one septuagenarian ‘Baishnav’ died on the spot and three more persons including an old woman suffered critical injuries.
Police sources said that on Thursday morning a ‘Baishnav’ couple went for their daily religious activities and bagging and they reached at Brahmabari traffic point area of Udaipur town under Gomati district, a speeding Scooty dashed both pedestrians.
As a result, both of them suffered critical injuries and police in association with firefighters shifted them to Gomati district hospital, where a visiting doctor declared brought dead to Supriya Biashnav (72) and his wife suffered only minor injuries.
In another road mishap, when an auto-rickshaw coming to Melaghar from Rangamati area of Sonamura with passengers, another speeding jeep dashed the auto-rickshaw from its back at Rangamati school area. As a result, an auto-rickshaw after being hit by the jeep in a heavy speed fall in a roadside ditch, the driver of the rickshaw, Suresh Noatia and another passenger Sarvatara Noatia suffered grievous injuries.
They were shifted to Sonamura hospital by firefighters in critical condition and after primary treatment; both injured persons were referred to GB Hospital.
While, in both accident cases, police are still unable to detain offending vehicles and accused drivers.
