Sidhu Moosewala murder accused Satinderjit Singh ‘Goldy’ Brar among Canada’s 25 most wanted fugitives
Satinderjit Singh ‘Goldy’ Brar, an accused in the murder case of singer Sidhu Moosewala, has been named in the list of Canada's 25 most wanted fugitives, media reports said.
Goldy Brar is a key member of a gang run by Lawrence Bishnoi with whom he has been friends since 2010, their college politics days.
Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in jail for many years. When Moose Wala was murdered in May last year, he was in Tihar Jail–from where he allegedly ran his gang.
In a Facebook post, Brar claimed responsibility for Moose Wala’s murder “in retaliation" for the murder of a Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera.
Issuing a statement, the Canadian government said, "Brar is the subject of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigation into the allegations originating from India. The offences committed in India are very serious in nature and merit the interest of police in Canada."
"Brar is believed to be in Canada and represents a risk to public safety. He is currently under investigation but is not charged with any criminal offences in Canada."
The new list, which consists of Brar's name, has been updated by the BOLO Program in Canada, which is a Canadian not-for-profit organization that amplifies police fugitive cases to increase public awareness.
Moosewala was ambushed and shot down at Jawarharke village in Mansa on May 29 last year.
The 28-year-old rapper was driving a Mahindra Thar when his assailants showered bullets at his SUV, inflicting multiple bullet injuries.
