Former British PM Rishi Sunak on Thursday celebrated Diwali in Leicester, a day after he quit as the Opposition leader in the Parliament.
Sunak shared an image on Instagram where he could be seen offering the prayer with his wife Akshta Murthy.
During his tenure, he was the first British-Asian PM to make history in 2022 by offering Diwali at 10, Downing Street.
"Happy Diwali to all those celebrating across the UK and around the world," Sunak posted on X.
"Akshata and I were delighted to mark it with @ShivaniRaja_LE tonight in Leicester - home of the largest Diwali celebrations outside of India," he said.

Sunak resigned as Opposition leader on Wednesday.
He made the final appearance in the House of Commons recently during Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs).
Sunak served as the interim leader of the Conservatives until a new Tory leader is elected.
Voting to elect a new leader was held on Thursday.
The new leader is expected to be announced on Saturday.
Tories faced a massive defeat in the general polls this year, ending Sunak's regime as the PM.
