Trump described the attack as 'deeply disturbing'.

He wrote on Truth Social: "Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all!"

In his statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin said: "Please accept the deepest condolences over the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack near the town of Pahalgam that claimed the lives of civilians — citizens of various countries. There can be no justification for this brutal crime. We expect that its sponsors and perpetrators will be duly punished."

US Vice President JD Vance, who is currently touring India and met Narendra Modi on Monday, wrote on X, "Usha and I extend our condolences to the victims of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. Over the past few days, we have been overcome with the beauty of this country and its people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this horrific attack."

Italian PM Giorgia Meloni said: "Deeply saddened by the terrorist attack that occurred today in India, which caused numerous victims. Italy expresses its closeness to the families affected, the injured, the Government and all the Indian people."

The UAE Foreign Ministry said: "The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries to innocent people."

French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou wrote on X: "Strong condemnation of the dastardly attack in Jammu & Kashmir. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. France stands in solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism. #Pahalgam."

Jammu and Kashmir's picturesque Pahalgam city witnessed one of the worst terror attacks in recent times when terrorists opened fire on tourists after identifying them as non-Muslims on Tuesday afternoon.

The attack occurred at a time when JD Vance is visiting India and PM Narendra Modi is on a two-day trip to Saudi Arabia.

While TV9 Network put the toll at 27, various media reports confirmed more than 25 deaths in the attack that prompted Union Home Minister Amit Shah to rush to Srinagar after he wrapped up a high-level meeting in Delhi.

According to reports, Modi is cutting short his Saudi visit and will return to India early Wednesday morning.

“While he was originally scheduled to return tomorrow night, he will now arrive in India early Wednesday morning,” sources told Mint.
